Meetings will be at Queset House unless advised otherwise.  Reminder notices will be sent out a few days before the meeting so sign on to our email list or check the library online newsletter for changes.

FOODIE GROUP UPCOMING FUN EVENTS

October 4, 6:30 p.m. - "Civil War Cooking" with Michael Grossman. At a time of war...with soldiers on the run and short food supplies...what style of cooking was developed? This program is a precursor to the Civil War Reenactment Day that will be held at the Ames Free Library on October 15.

November 1, 6:30 p.m. - "Beer Brewing 101". So you want to brew your own beer at home and add your own twist...come and meet Steve Andberg of The Witches Brew, Foxboro. The Witches Brew carries the supplies and information for beer/wine/soda brewing.

December 6, 6:30 p.m. - "Holiday Hi-jinx" Don't miss out on this fun night! Cookbook and Kitchen Utensil Swap...Potluck Snacks...and special guest from the "Slow Food" organization!

January 3, 2012, 6:30 p.m. - "Extending the Harvest" with Adam Tedeschi from Second Nature Farm, Norton. Adam is well known from his participation in the Easton Farmer's Market. He has put his extensive farming knowledge into play using unheated greenhouses, hoop houses and other means to extend the harvest season. Whether you want to extend your Fall/Winter Season or start the Spring Season early...Adam will have some helpful tips for you.
